Wow! What a weekend. District 9830 in Tasmania has four Rotaract Clubs that span across the state. This past weekend, three of those clubs (Tamar Valley, Central Coast & Sandy Bay) joined together for our first 9830 joint celebration. Central Coast hosted us for an epic car rally and scavenger hunt, concluding with an 80's party and sleepover at the Payton Park camp grounds. With challenges like 'take a picture with Road Kill' and 'sing 1 minute of Karaoke at the Forth Pub,' we knew we were in for a weekend of laughs. Many of us have some very funny stories to share. Have a look at our photo gallery to see some of the things we came up with. Thanks again to Central Coast for your hospitality and the effort that went into the organisation of the weekend. The next statewide event will be hosted by yours truly and that will be on February 2nd.

The new Rotaract year has started well in regards to fun & fellowship. Rotabattle is continuing on this year, with three teams this time around. We wish Purple Pegasus, The Navy Seals & Mighty Morphing Flower Arrangers the best of luck in the various challenges and tasks that will no doubt be sent your way! Sara, our club service director, has also launched ‘The Mole’ in conjunction with our Rotabattle competitions. One member has been given this secret task with the aim in gaining extra points for their team.. but it will not always be an easy job. We’ve been told that sabotage and sneaking around is to be expected! This month we have also seen the launch of Fellowship Friday. Fortnightly, our club has decided to meet in an informal way for after work drinks on a Friday, in hope of letting off steam from the week just been and also granting further opportunities for members to build relationships and get to know each other in a relaxed setting. The first Friday Fellowship at Alchemy was a huge success (see our members Re and Cas enjoying a drink in the picture attached), and we’re looking forward to the next session on Friday the 27th of July at Sporties Hotel. Please feel free to join us! |
