Major Projects
The Rotaract Club of Tamar Valley is proud to play a part in supporting the Launceston community. We are developing a plan and priority list of projects to support and will update our website regularly to keep you informed.
Major Project:
Edmund Rice Camps
Edmund Rice Camps Tasmania is a state-wide, not for profit, volunteer driven organisation that provides children, young people and young adults with experiences they may not otherwise have. The participants involved in the programs are most commonly aged between 8 and 12 years and come from a variety of different and diverse backgrounds and locations in Tasmania. Read more here.
COMING SOON.
The club has chosen our second major project to support but we are still ironing out a few details. Check back soon for an update.
Minor Project:
Phillipines Scholarship
The Rotract club of Tamar Valley has been supporting the Basa Elementary school, found within the district of Trento, Philippines for a number of years. Money raised has been going to support students seeking further education at the Trento National High School.
The Examiner's Winter Relief Appeal
Launceston's local newspaper The Examiner run an appeal each winter to support the most vulnerable in our community. Funds raised are split between four service organisations; the St Vincent de Paul Society, the Salvation Army, the Launceston Benevolent Society and City Mission.
