Some Worthy Causes.

Our club is going to be busy in October, with a Rotabattle event this Friday (come and join us for mini golf!) and many of our members lending a hand at various charity events. Two worthy causes that we'll be assisting this month are the Take Flight: Raising Our Wings Gala Ball, as well as Run for a Wish for the Make A Wish Foundation.

Raising Our Wings Gala Ball:

Take Flight has been established to raise awareness and funds for Angelman Syndrome, an extremely rare genetic condition affecting just 2,300 people in Australia.

Angleman Syndrome is often characterised by developmental delay, severe speech impairment and an associated seizure disorder that is typically difficult to treat.

Although there is no cure for Angelman Syndrome currently, recent research has delivered some amazing breakthroughs, generating much excitement among the Angelman community. More funds are needed to continue to progress research.  All proceeds raised by Take Flight are provided to the Foundation of Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics (FAST) Australia invest in research projects.

All proceeds from the Raising our Wings Ball will go to Take Flight. We can't wait to help out on the night! If you would like to know more about Take Flight please visit www.take-flight.org.

Run For A Wish:

Run For A Wish is an exciting new Fun Run/Walk in Launceston, which aims to raise money for Make-A-Wish® Australia, while encouraging participation from all members of the community.  Put 20th October in your diary now!

And some more BBQ's...

We've been cooking quite a few sausages lately. We've had another chance to feed shoppers at Harvey Norman with our second BBQ in two months. This money also contributed to supporting school students in The Phillipines. We also had the chance to raise funds for our club by providing lunch and snacks for around 160 primary school students at a soccer carnival. Special shout out to Nick, Ian, Callum and Hannah who worked super hard on those two days. Thanks to Heather and Hannah for providing the photos!
