Hi there! Sorry for our silence. We've been a busy club these past few weeks! Here's a litte update on what's been happening. As mentioned in our last post, we were helping out at the Raising our Wings Gala Ball for the Take Flight Foundation (find the link below). The night was a huge success, with Take Flight fundraising more than $25 000 for finding a cure to Angelman's Syndrome. Well done to everyone who put the ball together, and thankyou to our members who donated their time on a Saturday night to help out. From left: Reannah, Sara, Heather, Aaron, Lisa, Aileen, Ian, Shayne, Daran & Cas. Also thanks to Katie who left before this picture was taken. On Saturday 19th of October some of our members volunteered at the Run For A Wish fun runk at Aurora Stadium. Congratulations to the Make a Wish Foundation who raised over $22 000 to grant wishes to children with life threatening medical conditions. We hope to help again next year! Below: Lisa and Callum volunteering in their High-Vis Vests. Speaking of Aurora Stadium, on the 24th of October our club did something different instead of a meeting. First we met at The Oak for a good old fashioned pub meal, and then we moved on to Aurora Stadium where we led on a tour of the facilities by Cam. We learnt about the grandstands, grounds, IT equipmemt and Scoreboard. We also got to have a play in the Hawthorn club rooms! Thanks to Shayne and Lisa for organising the tour and to Cam for taking us through! Below you can see Cas having a kick of the footy in the club rooms and also our token group photo. In some other great news, we welcome Daran, the newest member of our club! And probably the best induction photo yet! And finally, we had a great time with the Rotary Club of Westbury last night, as we met at Zone 3 Laser Skirmish for some fierce competition, as well as a bit of Pizza! Three rounds were played, and the Red Team came out victorious each round! Although with a team captain like Cas, who is the most competitive person in our club, no one was surprised. So congratulations to the Red Team of 5 RCTV members and 1 RC Westbury Members who took out the trophy! We look forward to challening the RC Westbury to another challenge soon!
