Saturday the 4th of August was an exciting day in our club's history. Some of our members were up at the break of dawn, preparing for this momentous occasion. To be honest, it was just a BBQ held at our local Harvey Norman store, but we were excited because it was our first day to test our very own, brand new Rotaract BBQ. We had a very busy day cooking up some sausages and hamburgers, and made a fine profit by the end of the day. Our mascot bears, Shoelace and Hero were in attendance, and we had to convince several small children that unfortunately they were not for sale! All money raised from this BBQ is contributing to our ongoing sponsorship of two young women in the Philippines, to enable them to complete high school. Our next BBQ is coming up in September - so make a note to come and buy some of best sausages in Launceston!
